On 19th July, 2024, students from Grades 3-5 had the chance to attend a "Growing Up" talk by Dr. Divya Srirangarajan, a well-known children~s doctor from Rainbow Hospital Bengaluru.
Dr. Srirangarajan respected for her deep knowledge and caring approach, held this workshop to teach young people about key topics linked to personal cleanliness and safety. Dr. Srirangarajan started the talk by stressing how important it is to keep clean. She talked about the basics of daily cleaning habits such as washing hands often taking care of teeth, and why it~s crucial to bathe. She urged students to start these habits to live a healthy life.
Next, Dr. Srirangarajan spoke about the natural changes that happen to the body as it grows. She explained these changes in an easy-to-understand and comforting way helping students see that these changes are a normal part of getting older. This part of the talk aimed to clear up confusion about puberty and ease any worries the students might have. The workshop focused on teaching students how to keep themselves safe, which was crucial. Dr. Srirangarajan talked about ways to stay safe at home and in public. She stressed how important it is to pay attention to what~s going on around you, spot possible dangers, and know who to ask for help if something bad happens.
The "Growing Up" session gave students useful and practical tips to help them deal with the tough parts of being a teenager.
