Description :
“Hindi is the link of unity of the country.”
Hindi Diwas is celebrated on the 14th of September every year to commemorate the adoption of Hindi as one of the official languages of India. It is a day that marks the importance of the language and showcases its rich history and socio-political significance. As a language, Hindi not only commands respect, but is also widely spoken.
Mahatma Gandhi was the first to recommend Hindi as the national language during the Hindi Sahitya Sammelan in 1918. The untiring efforts of Beohar Rajendra Sharma (whose birthday falls on 14th September), Maithili Sharan Gupt and Seth Govind Das led to the adoption of Hindi as an official language in the Parliament. Hindi Diwas is a day that is devoted to celebrate the contributions of many great literary figures of the Hindi language who popularized the Hindi script, history, and literature as well as to popularize the language all over the world.
As part of Hindi Day celebrations, the students of III A presented a special assembly. They showcased the importance of Hindi language through a variety of performances such as a special song, role play and speech.
“Hindi hamari shaan hai, desh ka abhimaan hai” was the message delivered effectively.
The assembly was concluded with a speech by the Principal who shared her thoughts about the beauty of the language. It was an enriching virtual celebration of the Hindi Diwas that reached out to the students at their homes.
