2 Para (SF), one of the foremost Regiments of the Indian Army, had invited students from Grades 9 and 10 to experience a day with the soldiers.
It is essential for children to appreciate their life, and surrounding and be forever ready to work harder to achieve desired results; something at The HDFC School we focus sternly upon, and this invitation came as a rewarding opportunity to expose our students to all that we believe in.
The students took a walk around the campus where the regiment is historically situated and then were briefed about the achievements and laurels awarded to the regiment. The students were then allowed to witness in person some of the prized weapons that the Indian army uses to protect the country. They were also allowed to try out the Obstacle Course where real soldiers train. This gave a rush of adrenalin to our enthusiastic teenagers.
The students spent a great day out in the sun learning how a soldier is trained to become a para trooper and they all had fun, wanting eagerly to go back again soon!
