Field trips always stimulate students. The idea of going out of the classroom not only instill the value of experiential learning
but also keeps us connected to the real world. We, at The HDFC School, believe that children must be exposed to activities which
ignites their curiosity and leads to joyful learning.
When students learn with joy, they will never forget. Keeping that in mind a field trip to Gandhi Krishi Vigyana Kendra
(GKVK) was planned for the students of The HDFC School, Bangalore. The campus is considered as one of the greenest areas in
Bangalore. Students were taken on a guided tour of the vast campus, comprising of 167 hectares. The campus has an extensive selection of flora and fauna.
Students were taken to the different areas of the campus the showcased a wide range of plants. They saw some of the
endangered species of plants which were preserved carefully. They later explored horticulture section where they saw various medicinal and fruit bearing plants.
It was a short and enlightening trip where students gained awareness and learnt from real life experiences. It was indeed a great learning experience for students.
