In the HDFC School, Bengaluru, on June 19, 2024, students in grades 3- 5 attended their Curiosity Circle where Dr. Priya Vasanthkumar was invited as a guest Speaker for an interesting and informative talk on Science in Their Everyday Life’. The purpose of this interactive workshop was to kindle curiosity and understanding about scientific principles that are around us every day.
Dr. Vasanthkumar started off by warmly welcoming the students and underlining the importance of curiosity as well as the act of questioning. She explained that science is not only learned in schools but also comes with our common daily activities. The session was interactive so that young learners could observe, experiment and comprehend basic facts behind natural observations.
The students were active throughout the session, asking questions and participating actively. The teaching style of Dr. Vasanthkumar was friendly and explanations were vivid that he used to make the complex scientific ideas accessible and exciting for the little ones.
Towards the end of this meeting, Dr. Vasanthkumar encouraged them to carry on doing science with everyday things. It was surprising to see their excitement at how much there is in science every day.
Dr. Priya Vasanthkumar’s Curiosity Circle was a major success as it fueled interest in science among young learners. Through this session, students not only gained useful information but also got inspired to view the world with a scientific eye by observing, questioning and exploring it further.
