“True Leaders don’t create followers they create more leaders”
It’s rightly quoted by Mahatma Gandhi that “Anyone who creates a challenge into an opportunity through innovation creates wealth. Then that person indeed is a leader” and “You must be the change you need to see in the world.’’
Appreciation & Recognition
Every student wants to be recognized and appreciated for his work. To seek rewards, he probably has to wait for one solemn occasion, but if that is set as an integral culture in the schools to consistently reward the child for his achievement in Scholastic and Co- Scholastic Activities, then it will take no time for students to step forward to be the future leaders as they are already being reinforced with opportunities at the school level frequently. Here, at The HDFC School, teachers believe, their role as Potter’s to the clay in stretching, pulling and shaping their students to cast them into vessels that the society and on the wider aspect the nation can use as leaders, to shape the future of our nation.
Children as Charismatic Leaders
One of the most astounding quality of a leader is that he has a Vision who wants others to contribute in the shared view of the future. At The HDFC School, the activities and events are planned in such a way that the child starts thinking about others before himself. Here, the child is taught to be a good communicator, a risk taker, chief organizer, strategic planner and a charismatic leader through various projects and enterprises right from Pre-primary classes.
Leader is Confident
We usually connote confidence in having courage for public speaking but the flip side of confidence is in not giving up when you face the most difficult situation in front of you. At The HDFC School, we prepare and train children to face every situation with buoyancy and sanguinity. Rather help them to look at solutions to difficult situations with an innovative mind set.
HDFC students as future leaders
Here at The HDFC School, students get trained in performing various roles as leaders. An HDFC student is expected to be the emissary of school values. They must be approachable, reliable and trustworthy, and their duties involve communication with teachers and students, public speaking at assemblies and school events, writing for the school magazine. Each and every student at The HDFC School is encouraged to be involved in a range of co-curricular activities such as sport, music and debating, and be positive role models for all students with regards to behaviour and conduct. Students are groomed to be attentive listeners to their peers. This gives teachers a better insight into how the students are engaging with one another through open discussion. It encourages care of fellow students and empowers them to be more responsible human beings The Principals of the HDFC Schools motivates them with her inspiring speeches based on responsibility, team work, perseverance, initiative, empathy and optimism and talks on practical issues of students’ safety and wellbeing. Ultimately, leadership is not about glorious crowning acts. It's about keeping your team focused on a goal and motivated to do their best to achieve it, especially when the stakes are high and the consequences really matter. It is about laying the groundwork for others' success, and then standing back and letting them shine.
