The HDFC School Gurgaon bears strong commitment to creating joyful and impactful learning experiences for the students. Keeping up with this thought, an enchanting storytelling session for the students of grades II to V was conducted on Thursday, 19 December 2024. Founder of Talking Turtles Storytellers, Ms Shreedevi Sunil, hosted a wonderful storytelling session, featuring lively puppet performances that captivated young minds. The event aimed to nurture creativity, foster a love for stories, and enhance learning through engaging and interactive methods.
Using vibrant puppets and impressive voice modulation, Ms Shreedevi, transported the children into magical world, sparking their curiosity and imagination. The session focused on developing language skills, encouraging active listening, and promoting values like teamwork, kindness, and problem-solving.
In the session for grades VI-IX, the story Once upon a Time in Humourland was narrated to the students to throw light on various challenges that young adults face in school, amongst peers and in the community. Good stories contain within them the seeds for discussion and enquiry, thus opening up an opportunity for young people to share their experiences and listen to one another.
Twists and turns in the stories kept children curious and eager to know what happened next, creating a sense of wonder and at the same time the quirky, comical characters let the students be in splits and have an enjoyable and memorable experience.
