Description :
“Children enjoy more when they know they are having fun.”
Hands-on activities allow children to hone multi-sensorial skills through a joyful manoeuvre.
A cognizance of colours and shapes helps the little ones grasp math and geometric concepts
like shape, size, space, and position.
To drive the students’ interest in 3D shapes, the KG students of The HDFC School, Gurgaon
were engaged in some conducive experiential activities to make them understand the
concept of 3D shapes.
Students learnt to make 3-dimensional figures using toothpicks and clay. Their vocabulary
was enriched with the terms like space, faces, width, thickness, sides, corners while making
the cubes, cuboids, and cones.
This engaging and intriguing activity catered to all the 3 learning forums: Exploration,
Experimentation, Expression. The enthusiasm shown by students towards the activity was
exemplary and praiseworthy.
