Description :
“When we engage in what we are naturally suited to do, our work takes on the quality of play, and it is play that stimulates creativity.”
- Linda Naiman
The Interdisciplinary project exemplifies how our young learners demonstrate their understanding of concepts across disciplines covered in classrooms,
by participating in a variety of art-integrated activities based on specific themes. The HDFC School, Gurgaon hosted yet another Inter-Disciplinary
Project virtually for grades I-II. Our young learners delivered powerful and memorable performances on the themes ‘’The Universe’’ and ‘’Rocks and Minerals’’.
The students of Grade I suited up as astronauts and planets, enacted a role play where they travelled all around the universe. They built their own day
and night craft, UFOs with the green aliens on them, and performed jugalbandi, which was a total blast.
Learners of Grade II gussied up as famous people from various timelines, shared facts and figures about rocks and minerals,
transporting the audience to the seven wonders of the world. They demonstrated their expertise by displaying handcrafted volcano models and landforms,
as well as sharing the scientific process of a rock cycle.
Our students intricately decorated their backgrounds with their own handiwork and virtual backdrops.
It was a visual treat to see their hard work shine through. We value their commitment, enthusiasm, and exceptional ability to carry out the entire IDP.
It was truly a collaborative effort.
