One Earth. Small Steps. Big Change. Earth Day is celebrated every year on 22nd April to emphasize the importance of protecting our mother nature.
The theme for the Earth Day 2022 was ‘Invest in Our Planet.’ The HDFC School, Gurgaon echoed this theme in an inter-house Poetry Recitation
competition conducted on 27. April.2022.
Children from grades III-V recited splendid poems in English highlighting the need of saving our Earth. Our school houses encompass five elements of
Earth- Agni, Vayu, Ambar, Neer and Vasundhara which were perfectly represented in this competition. The poems ranged from enlightening the audience about
the rich flora and fauna of the environment, conserving them and building a sustainable Earth.
Children dressed up in beautiful costumes, adorned headgears and prepared props to perform wonderful presentations. The competition enhanced their
oratory skills, boosted their confidence and helped in raising awareness about preserving the essence of Earth. It was a joyful and informative event.
