Description :
At The HDFC School, Gurgaon, the reopening of school post vacations was prefaced with a 3-day training programme involving all the three branches of The HDFC Schools. The programme began with an inaugural session by Dr Marmar Mukhopadhyay that focused on the methods a school can employ to maximize its effectiveness–by building a networking body of past alumni and parents, and employing special skills of the teaching staff. Using Maslow’s Need Hierarchy, he emphasized upon the need of building capable leaders in the organization through self-actualization. Dr Ravindran, a renowned educational psychologist, then implored teachers to identify regression in students who entered high school during lockdown, and help them adjust to the school environment with empathy. Next, the principals of Gurgaon, Pune and Bengaluru branches, Ms. Anita Makkar, Ms. Amruta Prabhu and Ms Parvathy Seshadri spoke about the ways of augmenting technical and human resources through transparency and enabling shared trust with the parents. While the attendees were made privy to the various forms of leadership, Dr Mukhopadhay bookended these enlightening sessions by recognizing a potential leader in each one of us and championing the path towards self-learning.
