Description :
“The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page.”
Saint Augustine
Field trips provide students with experiences outside the confines of the school premises and provide much needed leisure and refreshment to the young minds.
Keeping this thought in mind, a day trip was organized for the students of grades III-V to National Rail Museum, Nehru Park and National Bhavan.
The trip started with joyous bus ride to National Rail Museum where the children acquainted themselves with impressive 163 years old railway heritage of India.
The students witnessed the golden history of Indian Railways through photographs, miniature models and informative indoor gallery. The visit to
the museum ended with a glimpse of train travel through joy ride on Toy Train.
The next destination, Nehru Park, proved to be a perfect means for the children to enjoy the sunny and clear day in lush green expanse of nature.
Following this, the students had a scrumptious lunch at National Bal Bhawan, an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Human Resource Development.
Here, they visited a huge aviary housing over 20 varieties of different birds including pigeons, partridges, mainas, a Fish Corner with different
species of fish and Laughing Mirrors. The visit to National Bal Bhavan did not just serve the purpose of plain sight seeing, but educated the
students with interesting facts about animals, different kinds of mirrors, reflections, and science in general.
The experience of the day trip can be astutely summed up as an opportunity for the students to learn, interact, experiment and innovate
in a barrier free natural environment.
