Day 2, Literary Week at The HDFC School, Gurgaon started with Students and the staff members being alerted by a bell, which announced the starting of DEAR activity.
Everyone dropped all their routine work and dedicated the time for extra reading. Characters are what make stories. Without a character, there is no story to tell,
only a lot of scenery. To reiterate this element of a story, the school organized ‘Page to Stage’ for the students of Grade III to V and ‘From Look to Book’ for
students of Grade VI wherein, the learners adorned themselves in different coloured robes, and enacted as their favourite literary characters.

Vibrant costumes, beautiful elocution of dialogues and a character parade around the school made the event a splendid feat to see.
Be it Grade 1 students making mind maps of their books, stating their favourite characters, story names and making flower cut outs to
write profound messages for their mothers or Grade 2 students immersed in the Spin the wheel activity ( Shabd ka paheeya) or Grade VII
creating Biography posters about the famous personalities from all domains of life or Grade IX and X learners presenting Think Aloud – Impromptu
Speaking activity and Spin a Yarn–Weaving a story based on newspaper headlines, all the activities were precisely curated and executed to hone
listening and verbal skills, decision making, creativity and abstract thinking. The day turned out to be an extremely engaging experience mixed
with fun learning for the learners.
