Description :
“Going green is not so much about what you conserve so much as it is about what you choose not to abuse.”
World Earth Day, an event celebrated every year on the 22nd of April, reminds us how closely we are connected to Earth and our responsibility to protect it.
Celebrations of World Earth Day in The HDFC School kick-started with a special assembly presented by the young environmentalists of Grade 3A,
who reiterated the importance of celebrating Earth Day and the history behind it. Storytelling sessions for the pre-primary wing were not just
about moral lessons, but they engendered personal reflection in students. The first and second graders participated in a poster-making activity
‘Nurture Nature’ and illustrated their vision of a clean and green Earth. Where students of Grades III- V participated in the ‘Poster Making’
activity on ‘Invest in Future’, the environment conservationists of Grades IX to XII grabbed everyone’s attention and propelled fellow students
to feel a greater sense of urgency about protecting our planet through their melodious musical recitals. Fun-filled and action-oriented activities
ended with a gentle reminder that any effort, even a tiny endeavor, would go a long way in saving mankind from disaster.
