“Pedagogy must evolve to make education more experiential, holistic, integrated, inquiry-driven, discovery oriented,
learner-centered, discussion based, flexible, enjoyable” NEP,2020
Excursions are effective and novel pedagogy and keeping this in mind a trip to the Pradhan Mantri Sangrahalaya was organized by The HDFC School,
Gurgaon for the students of Grades IX to XII. The trip’s objective was to expand students’ knowledge about the rich political history and institutional
legacy of the architects of India’s past, present and future. The students also gained a comprehensive understanding of the working composition and
historical and political relevance of the post of Prime Minister. The excited students visited this unique museum with their facilitators and were
guided by the escorts, who briefed all on the lives of 15 prime ministers and their contributions to the making of modern India.
Students also evaluated the policies of the different national governments in the context of national and International relations.
It was also relevant for them from the subject point of view as they learn about different political movements and the mirage of
developments that took place right through Indian political history and freedom struggle in their books.
