Date of event: June - 2023

Description :

“Traveling – it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller." - Ibn Battuta

Taking a much-needed respite from the heat, The HDFC School, Gurgaon organized a 3 night - 4 days educational trip to Nainital from 19 to 23 May. Recharging our minds and rejuvenating our spirits, we embarked on a journey of exploration and self-discovery. The trip consisted of many fun-filled activities which not only entertained the students but also widened their educational horizon.

With smiling faces, while sharing some giggles and laughter, the kids went on trekking on hills. They embraced the importance of remaining fit and healthy in everyday life through these treks. The children honed their navigation skills to make their way through the trails learning about the essentials of trekking. While navigating the woods during their hiking expedition, they also took the blessings of local deities.

The kids had an opportunity to visit Nainital where everyone was spellbound to see the beauty of Naini Lake. The same day, students had a thrilling time at an adventure camp at Mangoli where they participated in some team-building exercises and gained 21st century skills like collaboration and creativity. Another day at an adventure camp encompassed fun activities like rappelling and crossing the Burma bridge. The laid-back evening consisted of students enjoying music, dance, and games.

Our last stop was visiting the Jim Corbett National Park and the local villages nearby. The students were encouraged to participate in a cultural exchange by facilitating interactions with local students and families. They acquainted themselves with the Kumaoni culture through songs, activities, and a delicious Kumaoni lunch.

This trip served as an opportunity for students to explore and learn beyond the confines of the classroom, fostering personal growth, team building, and cultural appreciation. It served as a catalyst for their educational journey, empowering them to become well-rounded independent individuals ready to embrace the world.
