“Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore.”

We all know that there is nothing quite like a camping trip to give us a chance to reconnect with nature, escape daily life and go back to basics.
Therefore, to excite, inspire, fascinate, involve and evolve, the Students of Grades IX-XII of The HDFC School, Gurgaon were provided with one such
camping exposure to Sataal , the valley of seven lakes, a haven, 22 kms away from Nainital, filled up with birds, deer, leopards, sparkling lakes,
fish and deep forests. The students explored the place with endless hikes across the oak and pine laden forests, night trek to the haunted lake,
hangout under the waterfall for the ultimate falling water massage, campfire stories, chasing spirits at midnight. The trip gave young minds a chance
to travel far from typical school destinations into real adventure where they had fun, learned and had the time of their lives.
They took part in various challenging and exciting activities such as rope climbing, trekking, rock climbing, flying fox, river crossing etc.
They also participated in cultural activities with the children of the suryagaon village which were held during the evening time to strengthen
teamwork and enhance the sense of personal accomplishment. The expedition was planned to provide a safe and meaningful wilderness experience that
balance challenging adventure and exploration with fun. The opportunity to experience “ecotourism”, to enjoy the natural attractions as well as to
get familiar with the culture of local communities was welcomed and appreciated by parents and students alike.
