Spending time outdoors allows children to connect with nature and gain an appreciation for the environment. They can observe and experience the beauty of the natural world first-hand.
Keeping in mind this objective, The HDFC School, Gurgaon organised a field trip for all the Grades of Nursery and KG to a farm named Farmus Farm.
On a bright and sunny morning, the children of HDFC School arrived at the farm gates, their eyes wide with anticipation and curiosity, ready to embark on a journey of discovery.
As they stepped onto the farm, they were greeted by a kaleidoscope of sights – rows upon rows of verdant vegetables swaying gently in the breeze. Their first stop was the vegetable patch, where they were greeted by a friendly farmer who guided them through the rows of plants. Children saw a rainbow of colors – plump red tomatoes, crisp green lettuce, vibrant orange carrots, green peas and so much more. With gentle hands, they reached out to touch the leaves, plucking them and feeling the texture of each plant beneath their fingertips.
The true highlight of the day came when they encountered the farm animals- gentle cows grazing in the pasture, playful goats leaping from rock to rock, and rabbits enjoying the bright sunlight.
With giggles of delight, the children petted the animals, feeling the soft fur and feathers beneath their palms.
With the farmers as their guides, they learned the art of storytelling, listening wide-eyed as tales of brave lions, wise owls, and mischievous rabbits filled the air. For a moment, they were not just children on a farm – they were lions prowling the savannah and rabbits bounding through the fields. The children gathered their baskets of vegetables and their hearts full of memories that would last a lifetime.
