Literary Week at The HDFC School, Gurgaon reached its zenith with a spellbinding storytelling extravaganza that transported students on a journey of fancy and wonder. To nurture a love for storytelling, a captivating session was organized for the students of Grades Nursery -V on Tuesday, 23 April 2024. The session was conducted by Ms. Simi Srivastava, founder of Kathashala.
Ms. Srivastava is professionally trained in theatre, creative music, and movement, miming and puppetry.
Young learners of Nursery and Kindergarten were completely enthralled with their eyes shining with excitement, as they were swept away by the delightful tale of "Gajapati Kulapati. The highlighted story transported them to a magical village, where they met the friendly elephant "Gajapati Kulapati" amidst the cheerful melodies of the surroundings.
Grade I and II enthusiastic learners were captivated in a delightful storytelling session, featuring the engaging tale of Peace is within- " Farmer Falgu Goes on A Trip ." With animated animal sounds and a beautiful message of inner joy and peace, the session sparked imaginations and warmed young hearts.
Throughout the sessions, students were immersed in an interactive and multisensory storytelling journey. As the story was narrated, carefully selected music was played to enhance key moments, evoke emotions, and create a dynamic experience. The students actively participated by clapping, humming, and joining in engaging activities led by the facilitator. The session proved to be a memorable and enriching experience, captivating students~ senses and sparking their imaginations. Young learners carried with them the echoes of unforgettable tales and a newfound appreciation for the art of storytelling.
