“Hasya Kavita," or humorous poetry, is a delightful art form that tickles the funny bone and brings joy to both performers and audiences alike. It combines wit, satire, and linguistic prowess to deliver amusing anecdotes, clever wordplay, and humorous observations about life, society, and human nature.
To elicit laughter, merriment through the power of words and to enhance the linguistic skills in the students, the activity “Hasya Rang Ras” was organized for grades 1 and 2 at The HDFC School, Gurgaon. The students recited humorous poems full of wit and wisdom.The performance was truly delightful, capturing the audience’s attention through skilled voice modulation, precise pronunciation, clever props, and expressive gestures. Carrying their colourful attires gracefully, the young performers brought the amusing verses to life, captivating the audience with their animated expressions and playful delivery.
This activity helped the students to imbibe the skills of poem writing, development of vocabulary, presentation, confidence, articulation, poise memory, understanding of language structures and much more. It was indeed an entertaining activity with each participant managing to tickle the audience’s funny bone.
